Accredited as an Action Learning Facilitator through ALA/ILM in 2009, Ann has facilitated many sets over the years for freelance consultants, organisations seeking change, community organisers, and as part of leadership and mentoring packages she delivers to support sustainability of the learning over time. From 2016-2017, while co-director at Women Making a Difference, she supported the training participants with Action Learning training and facilitation to continue their progress after the courses finished. She delivers Action Learning both in person and using skype and other media.
In the autumn of 2017, Ann will be initiating a new project in Cardiff (and beyond!!) to build self-sustaining Action Learning sets for Women in Transition (retirement, return to work, career change….)… Please contact Ann if you feel a transition coming on!
She is also working on development of Action Learning Sets particularly for small businesses… watch this space…. and again – please get in touch if this is of interest…
Ann has been accredited as a Certified Professional Facilitator (CPF) in 1999 and 2009 by the International Association of Facilitators(IAF). She has run hundreds of workshops over the last 20 years from development of process requirements for IT projects through 5-year strategic plans for housing associations (including 100s of participants at Bron Afon). She helped Monmouthshire develop their 10-year Local Development Plans through a series of workshops which included local communities, business representatives and council teams and managements. In many cases, she also ran training as an integral part of the process to enable clients to develop skills to deliver future activities, building sustainable and collaborative work practices.
Ann’s workplace group and team mediations have included a large university department, a national agency team, the NHS, a team at an industrial plant and a series of interventions in a large City council, where claims of bullying and unfair work practices were in place. Additionally, she has done one-to-one mediations in a variety of workplaces across all sectors. Her mediation practice supports organisations through the mediation process, but also often includes training to enable parties to understand and deal with their own conflicts. She has been delivering workplace mediation training since 2002, delivering to NHS groups, public sector bodies amongst others and developed an ILM Course for certifying workplace mediators as well as shorter courses for understanding conflict and the mediation process. Ann received her MSc in Conflict Resolution and Mediation from Birkbeck in 2007.
Ann has recently been developing her practice in elder mediation to support families who find themselves needing to develop care plans and approaches for elderly family members. Our dispersed families and shrinking services present difficult situations for supporting aging, and Ann helps siblings/family members to have those difficult conversations that may be key to finding ways forward, and strengthening rather than fracturing relationships.
Coaching and Mentoring:
Ann has developed courses independently in Solutions Focused Coaching and Motivational coaching and has delivered coaching services for a wide variety of individuals in many areas – marketing, children’s and other charities, company directors, young people in transition (from A-level – university – looking at further education and breaking into the job market). She developed and delivered a mentoring programme for women in construction and IT as part of the WAVE project.
